  4. PRAY FOR US!!!!!!

Loving The Journey!

We have been on the road quite a bit this year.   We have made some of the dearest friends that a person can have.   God and His people have truly been good to us.   I think often of the many times that we have been in need and no one except The Lord knew of the need.  During those times when we would cry out to God, He would touch the heart of one of His children and to our dumbfounded amazement, the need would be met.    I have talked with those who have had nothing but complaints about their experiences on deputation.   I do not have those feelings about our journey thus far.

During deputation, I have watched as God provided us with better transportation than we had at the beginning.   We have sat in Church services and wept over the fact that God cares enough for us to send THE message that we needed by way of a Preacher that we had never met.   We have sat in Churches that have told us "We CAN NOT take on any new Missionaries right now" and watched the Pastor get up with a tear in his eye and ask God's people to sacrificially give so that they could financially support us on a monthly basis.   I have had a young man under the age of 13 approach me and say "God wants me to support you for $1.00/ month." and then see that $1.00 come in FAITHFULLY each month.    We have had young children to bring in the change from their shattered piggy banks, so that Men, Women, Boys and Girls in Scotland might be able to hear the Gospel and be SAVED!     What a great and humbling journey this has been.

The greatest part of this deputation journey took place in Charlevoix, Michigan.   While there, God convicted my wife of her sin and she realized that although she had lived a good life, full of morals, and compassion for others.  A life filled with Church services and works, she had never trusted Christ as her Lord and Saviour.   It was in that meeting, that she repented and trusted Christ and was made a new creature.   That, my friend has made it worth every mile, and worth every trial.   God truly has been good to the Hodnett family!

We are LOVING THE JOURNEY!

Pressing Forward!

What an amazing year of God's blessings in 2011.   As we begin 2012, I can't help but think of what I have heard Dr.  Stinnett Ballew  say so many times, "God did it before, He'll do it some more".   The fact that God blessed our family, our finances and our faith in 2011 just proves to me that in 2012, He'll do it again.   This year, we will travel to most, if not all, of the 49 continental states.   My personal goal, even in a stagnant economy, is to be on the field, in Livingston, Scotland, in April 2014.   Please join with me in prayer about this.

There is so much to do this year for the cause of Christ and the furtherance of the Gospel!   We do not have time to sit idly by as the world goes to Hell.   We must do as much as we can with what we have, to tell others of Jesus and His Love!   I have had the priviledge of seeing several get born again just this year.  As the children sing, "God's not dead, NO!, He's still alive!"   He is alive and well and still saving sinners who will repent and trust Him as their Saviour.

I would like to ask that you please earnestly pray that God will send in the remaining $3,000.00 needed for our survey trip that we plan to take at the end of April 2012.  I know some have nothing to give, others have little to give, yet theree are those who have much that they can give.  If you will do what God touches your heart about, He will take care of the rest.

We are living in an electronic and digital age.  Now, that's not ALL bad!   There are some benefits to the day and age we live in.   For instance, you are sitting at a desk or maybe even riding down the road viewing our website.  It is quite possible that you are doing so from a "SMART PHONE".   WOW!!!!   Who'd of ever thought!   Because of technology, we are now able to accept VISA, MASTERCARD, AMERICAN EXPRESS and DISCOVER.   If God has touched your heart about helping us to get to Scotland, you now have the ability to do so through what ever means you wish.

I also wish to announce (I should have done this months ago) that we are now working with Warrenton Baptist Mission Agency out of Vicksburg, MS.   WBMA is a LOCAL CHURCH ministry of Warrenton Baptist Church.   Dr. Robert Jenkins is the Director of WBMA and he and Mrs. Nancy have been a great help to us as well as many other missionaries all across the globe.   We are honored to be representing and represented by Warrenton Baptist mission Agency.   If you have any questions about WBMA or our ministry, feel free to contact Dr. Jenkins @ 301-636-5052 or Myself @ 904-364-8780.

BY THE WAY!!!!!!   Many of you have prayed for us concerning our need for a travel trailer.   PRAISE BE TO GOD, He has given us a 2006 Fleetwood travel trailer.   God is faithful all the time!   We do still covet your prayers concerning the payoff of our 2001 Chevy Suburban.  We only owe about $5,000.00 and that burden will be off of our shoulders.

The Journey Thus Far

While preparing to post this update, I am reminded of how the song writer said:   "I've got so much to thank Him for, so much to praise Him for.  For you see, He's been so good to me."  God truly has been good to me.   The past few months have been absolutely AMAZING, as we have witnessed the hand of God in and on our lives.   We are currently receiving around 6% of our needed monthly support.  Seeing that we have been on deputation only since April of this year, we are rejoicing over what God has sent in financially thus far.  We have traveled just over 10,000 miles since the middle of June.  God has watched over us and kept us safe on the journey and we are so thankful.  Please continue to pray that God will use our family to be a help to others, and that our monthly financial support would continue to increase, so that we can get on the field soon.

Seeing God Work

It is an amazing thing, to see God work and provide needs.   We have been on deputation now for just about 2 months.  During this two month period, we have watched as God provided a video projector and allowed us to get repairs done to our vehicle at 1/3 the cost we had been quoted.  Those are just a couple of the physical needs that God has met.  What excites me the most, is to see God work in areas that we were clueless to.   I recently was contacted by a veteran Missionary to Scotland, Bro. Jim Whitted. During our conversation,  Bro. Whitted asked me if God had burdened me for a specific area in Scotland.  I informed him that God had burned in my heart to go to Livingston.  Bro. Jim seemed to get excited and told me that in the late 70's he led a man to the Lord named Eddie Smith.  He went on to tell me that Eddie now lives in Livingston!   I was reminded once again, GOD MAKES NO MISTAKES!  The Bible tells us in Jeremiah 1:5 "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.".   God allowed Bro. Whitted to give Bro. Smith the Gospel before I was ever born.  HALLELUJAH!  I'm glad I get to serve God, the one who knows what He's doing and is interested in the lives of His people!    Please continue to pray for us as we travel across this country raising support to enable us to take the Gospel to Scotland.
